Access for All

Sightseeing
The seafront is flat and accessible with beautiful views out to Falmouth Bay.
Falmouth Art Gallery. The Town's art collection is one of the most important in Cornwall, and features works by major British artists.
Monday to Saturday 10am-5pm including spring and summer bank holidays. FREE ADMISSION.
Wheelchair access via Webber Street.
National Maritime Museum Cornwall. Displays an impressive collection of small boats, together with hands-on activities and reflects Cornwall’s rich maritime history. Daily 10am– 5pm. Companions assisting disable visitors are admitted free of charge.
RNLI Falmouth Lifeboat Station (Map Ref: C4) Tel: 01326 374588 Easy access into the area where the inshore Severn is kept. Access via ramp which can be steep at certain states of the tide to view the Atlantic Class Lifeboat. No access to lifeboat.
Open: April-May: Mon – Sat 11am-1pm and June-Oct: Mon - Fri11am-4pm & Sat 11am-1pm.
Pendennis Castle (English Heritage). Built by King Henry VIII and with 450 years of history right up to the Second World War. Limited disabled access – in the grounds, part of the keep, and in the shop and tearoom.
Princess Pavilion Theatre offers a year round programme of music for all tastes plus drama, variety, festivals and more. Ramped wheelchair access from car park to main theatre entrance and garden. Wheelchair access to upper garden only. To reserve special seating please call in advance.
Swanpool Nature Reserve has a good tarmac surfaced footpath to the side of Swanpool with viewing platform, accessible toilets and car park.
Castle Drive offers fantastic views over Falmouth Dock, the river Fal and over Falmouth Bay with a good tarmac surface footpath approximately 2 km circular walk.
Shopping
The central shopping area is flat but characterised by cobbled streets.
Falmouth Shop Mobility Scooters are available for hire Monday to Friday from the One Stop Shop, Church Street (Map Ref: G4) at a cost of £3 per day. Booking should be made 24hours in advance. Contact Ruth on 01326 313553 or email ruth@falmouth.co.uk
Further Afield
Glendurgan Gardens (National Trust), Mawnan Smith Tel: 01326 250906. Access only to the Camellia Walk. The Gardens have steep paths, which are not suitable for manual or electric wheelchairs. If you wish to go further into the gardens a disclaimer has to be signed.
Trebah Gardens, Mawnan Smith. It is a steep garden but with care can be managed by using set paths. Electric wheelchair available.
Trelissick Gardens (National Trust), Feock. Most of the gardens are accessible, a map is provided. Electric wheelchair available.

Steep drive from the visitor centre to the pools. Two wheelchairs can be accommodated on the Safari Bus or one electric chair.
Parking
The car park on The Moor offers the most level access to the town centre (Map Ref: I4).
There are limited disabled bays in Webber Street (Map Ref: I5) and on The Moor (lower part of The Moor area, opposite Lloyds Bank I4).
Falmouth car parks have disabled spaces but are not free. Please check the pay and display boards.

Webber Street (Map Ref:I4),
Gyllyngvase Beach (Map Ref: E2),
Swanpool Beach (Map Ref: G1).
Radar keys can be obtained free of charge from the One Stop Shop (Map Ref: G4), and Falmouth Tourist Information Centre (Map Ref: H5).
Trains
All stations on the Falmouth to Truro branch line are wheelchair accessible.
Activities
Ships and Castles Leisure Pool. Two wet wheelchairs to get into the water are available.
An all terrain wheelchair (sand chair) is available for hire from Gyllyngvase Beach Café. The chair allows visitors easy access onto Gyllyngvase beach and into the sea. Call 01326 312884 for more information.
Wheelyboat at Stithians Lake Menherion, Redruth TR16 6NW allows access to the water for wheelchair users and the less mobile to enjoy fishing for trout, nature watching or pleasure boating.
